PÄRLANS KONFEKTYR

In 1930s Sweden, caramels were beloved treats, but over time they became rare and mostly associated with Christmas. Wanting to revive the tradition, the founders of Pärlans opened their first caramel shop in 2010, crafting sweets by hand with traditional methods and vintage-inspired aesthetics. A year later, they moved into a charming shop on Södermalm where passers-by could watch the candy being made, and where a vintage wrapping machine named Madame Rose joined the team.

As their popularity grew, they added chocolate-dipped caramels to the lineup in 2018, prompting a need for more space. Eventually, production moved to a large factory in the Slakthus area, while the original Södermalm store remained a seasonal favorite, transforming into an ice cream kiosk in summer and a cozy holiday shop in winter. The heart of Pärlans remains the classic caramel, but they now experiment with flavors and textures, blending vintage elegance with modern creativity. Their commitment to craftsmanship and beauty, inside and out, continues to guide their journey as they spread beyond Stockholm.
