Raspberry jam from Den Gamle Fabrik, a fantastically delicious jam with a wonderful taste of fresh raspberries. The jam is perfect both on the breakfast table and with a cheese platter. And the best thing after the taste is the easy-to-open lid! Den Gamle Fabrik has been making jams from the finest fruits and berries for over 175 years. Just like in the old days, the jam is made in open pots under gentle heating. It is a winning concept for preserving the natural taste of the ingredients and maintaining the delicious berries and fruit pieces that add that little extra.
Adventurous slices with berries & almonds
Ingredients:
Shortcrust pastry:
250 g wheat flour
125 g sugar
1/2 vanilla pod
175 g butter
1 egg
Almond-raspberry mixture:
1 portion of shortcrust pastry
200 g almond flakes
75 g butter
75 g sugar
2 tbsp milk
Grains from ¼ vanilla pod
1 jar DEN GAMLE FABRIK Raspberry jam
Mix wheat flour, sugar and vanilla beans. Crumble the butter into the mixture and collect the dough with eggs. Knead it quickly, shape it into a ball and press it flat. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Turn on the oven to 180 °C. Roll out the puff pastry into a square the size of a baking sheet, lined with baking paper, approx. 24-30 cm. Pre-bake the puff pastry base for 12-14 minutes at 180 °C until golden brown and let cool for 10 minutes.
Cook the almond flakes, butter, sugar, milk and vanilla bean in a saucepan over low heat until the butter has melted and the sugar has dissolved, let cool. Spread the raspberry jam on the puff pastry and spread the cooled almond mixture over it.
Bake for approx. 25 minutes at 180 °C, quickly cut it into small slices and let the slices cool on a wire rack.
Tip! Instead of almond-raspberry slices, you can bake delicious chocolate slices with cocoa and raspberry jam.
