Ginger Marmalade Glazed Tofu (or Halloumi) with Sesame & Lime

Ingredients

  • 400 g firm tofu (or halloumi if not vegan)

  • 3 tbsp Den Gamle Fabrik Ginger Marmelade

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)

  • Juice of ½ lime

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger (optional, for extra heat)

  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted

  • Fresh coriander/cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare tofu/halloumi: Press tofu to remove water, then cut into thick slices. (If using halloumi, just slice into slabs.)

  2. Make glaze: In a bowl, whisk together ginger marmalade, soy sauce, vinegar, lime juice, sesame oil, garlic, and extra ginger if using.

  3. Marinate tofu for 20–30 minutes (optional but adds flavor).

  4. Cook: Heat a little oil in a pan. Fry tofu/halloumi until golden on both sides. Pour over glaze and let it bubble until sticky and coating the pieces (2–3 minutes).

  5. Finish: Sprinkle with sesame seeds and coriander. Serve with jasmine rice, noodles, or a crunchy salad.
