🥔 Creamy Fish Balls with Potatoes & Peas
(Swedish: Fiskbullar med potatis och ärtor)
This is an easy, traditional Swedish weekday meal — warm, gentle flavors that the whole family can enjoy.
🍽 Ingredients (serves 2–3):
1 can Abba Fish Balls in Dill Sauce (375 g)
500 g potatoes (waxy type), peeled and halved
100 g frozen green peas
1 tbsp butter
Fresh dill (optional)
Salt and white pepper to taste
👩‍🍳 Instructions:
Boil potatoes in salted water until tender (about 15–20 min). Drain and keep warm.
In a small saucepan, gently heat the fish balls and their dill sauce over low heat. Do not boil.
Boil or steam the peas for 2–3 minutes, then drain and toss with a bit of butter.
Plate the potatoes and peas. Spoon fish balls and warm dill sauce over the top.
Garnish with extra fresh dill and a grind of white pepper, if desired.
đź’ˇ Tip: Serve with a spoonful of Felix or Garant lingonberry jam for that sweet-tart contrast that makes the dish uniquely Swedish.
