Orange marmalade from Den Gamle Fabrik, a fantastically delicious marmalade with a wonderful orange flavor. The marmalade is perfect both on the breakfast table and with a cheese platter. And the best thing after the taste is the easy-to-open lid! Den Gamle Fabrik has been making marmalades from the finest fruits and berries for over 175 years. Just like in the old days, the marmalade is made in open pots under gentle heating. It is a winning concept for preserving the natural flavor of the ingredients and maintaining the delicious berries and fruit pieces that add that little extra.


Orange Marmalade Glazed Cake with Almonds

Ingredients

  • 200 g all-purpose flour

  • 100 g ground almonds (almond flour)

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 150 g unsalted vegan butter (or regular if preferred), softened

  • 150 g sugar

  • 3 eggs (or 3 flax eggs for vegan)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Zest of 1 orange

  • 120 ml plant-based milk (or regular milk)

  • 4 tbsp Den Gamle Fabrik Orange Marmelade

Glaze

  • 4 tbsp Den Gamle Fabrik Orange Marmelade

  • 2 tbsp water or orange juice

  • Handful of toasted almond flakes (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and line a loaf tin or round cake pan.

  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, combine flour, almond flour, baking powder, and salt.

  3. Cream butter & sugar: In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time (or flax eggs), mixing well. Stir in vanilla and orange zest.

  4. Combine: Add dry ingredients to wet mixture in 2–3 parts, alternating with milk. Mix until just combined.

  5. Add marmalade: Gently swirl 4 tbsp marmalade into the batter (don’t overmix, it should have ribbons of marmalade).

  6. Bake: Pour into prepared pan and bake 40–50 minutes, until a skewer comes out clean.

  7. Glaze: While still warm, heat marmalade and water/juice in a small pan until runny. Brush generously over the cake.

  8. Finish: Sprinkle with toasted almond flakes. Let cool slightly before slicing.
