Sockerbageriet Classic English Sweet Liquorice is a timeless classic with roots dating back to 1760. Liquorice root has been appreciated for thousands of years and has been found in everything from Tutankhamun's tomb to stories from Alexander's campaigns. In the 17th century, monks began growing licorice at Pontefract Castle in England, which laid the foundation for the English licorice tradition.

In 1760, pharmacist George Dunhill took the next step when he added sugar to the well-known licorice cakes. The result was the English sweet licorice, where the strong licorice flavor meets a soft and round sweetness. The combination created a unique confectionery that quickly became loved and is still appreciated around the world.

Sockerbageriet Classic English Sweet Liquorice offers a rich licorice flavor with pleasant sweetness and a clear connection to the classic English licorice tradition. Each piece is a piece of confectionery history where tradition, craftsmanship and taste meet.
