Magnesium for bones, muscles and the nervous system

Magnesium is a mineral that, among other things, contributes to muscle activity and protein synthesis in the body. In addition, the mineral helps to strengthen the skeleton. Magnesium has a relaxing effect on muscle cells and nerve signals and can therefore be a useful supplement for cramps, for example.


Why does magnesium help with cramps?

Calcium and magnesium work together in the body to make muscles work; calcium has a contracting effect on muscles while magnesium helps muscle cells relax. The two minerals work together in the body to ensure that muscles and bones stay in shape. When too much calcium is stored in the cells, it often leads to twitching and cramps. Since magnesium counteracts this deposit, magnesium supplements, such as our Triple Magnesium, can help reduce these muscle disorders.


Can magnesium counteract osteoporosis?

Magnesium regulates how much calcium is circulating in the bone structure. When there is an imbalance of calcium in relation to magnesium, the risk of osteoporosis (bone fragility) can increase.
