Chocolate Flake Mousse (Elegant Swedish Dessert)
A rich and airy chocolate mousse topped with delicate Chocolatte Chocolate Flakes—perfect for special occasions or a luxurious treat.
🧂 Ingredients:
150g dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
3 large eggs, separated
50g granulated sugar
300ml heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Chocolatte Chocolate Flakes, for garnish
👩🍳 Instructions:
Melt the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water (double boiler method) or in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Let it cool slightly.
In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks with the sugar and vanilla extract until pale and creamy.
In another bowl, beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form.
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
Gently fold the melted chocolate into the egg yolk mixture.
Carefully fold in the whipped cream, followed by the beaten egg whites, until fully incorporated.
Divide the mousse into serving glasses or bowls and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set.
Before serving, sprinkle generously with Chocolatte Chocolate Flakes for an elegant finish.
💡 Tip: For added texture, layer the mousse with crushed biscuits or a drizzle of fruit compote.
