Salovum is a food product for special medical purposes with antisecretory effects for dietary treatment of diarrhoea, for example in connection with inflammatory bowel diseases such as Ulcerative Colitis and MB Crohn's.
About
Salovum is a natural product with high levels of Protein-Antisecretory Factor (Protein-AF), which gives Salovum an antisecretory effect. Protein AF regulates ion and fluid transport across cell membranes in the body. Salovum can be used in an acute stage when products that inhibit bowel movements should be avoided or seen as inappropriate. Salovum can be used by children as well as pregnant and lactating women, but should always be used in consultation with a doctor or dietician.
The development of Salovum is based on innovative Swedish research originating in the discovery of Protein-AF. It is a unique and patented product.
Ingredients
The only ingredient in Salovum is spray-dried egg yolk in powder form. Hens are fed a special feed to stimulate the concentration of Protein-AF in their eggs. No additives are used.
Use
A daily dose of Salovum is 4 g, three times daily until the desired effect is achieved.
Salovum is mixed into a glass of cold liquid, such as water or fruit juice. The powder can also be sprinkled on, for example, a sandwich or mixed into an egg dish.
Side Effects, Interactions, and Precautions
No side effects or interactions with other foods or drugs have been reported in connection with Salovum. Salovum should never replace or change current diet or medication. People with egg allergies should avoid Salovum.
