(Swedish-style Cream Sauce with Chicken & Mushrooms)
A quick and comforting weeknight dinner with a rich, velvety sauce — perfect for serving with potatoes or pasta.
🥘 Ingredients (serves 2–3):
1 packet Blå Band Cream Sauce (66 g, dry mix)
300–400 g boneless chicken (thigh or breast), cut into strips
100 g mushrooms, sliced (champignon or forest mushrooms)
1 tbsp butter or oil
300 ml water + 200 ml cream or milk (for the sauce)
Salt & pepper to taste
Optional: fresh parsley for garnish
👩🍳 Instructions:
In a frying pan, heat butter or oil and sauté mushrooms until lightly browned. Add chicken and cook until golden and cooked through. Season lightly.
In a saucepan, prepare Blå Band Cream Sauce according to package: whisk the dry mix into 300 ml water and 200 ml cream or milk. Bring to a boil while stirring, then simmer for 3 minutes until thickened.
Add the cooked chicken and mushrooms to the sauce. Let simmer together for 2–3 minutes to combine the flavors.
Serve hot over boiled potatoes, pasta, or rice. Garnish with parsley if desired.
💡 Tip: For extra depth, add a splash of soy sauce or a teaspoon of Dijon mustard to the sauce while simmering.
