Licorice Caramel Drizzle Cake (Swedish-Inspired Delight)
A moist vanilla sponge cake elevated with the unique flavor of Mr Cake Licorice Caramel Sauce—perfect for fika or as a show-stopping dessert.
🧂 Ingredients:
For the cake:
200g unsalted butter, softened
200g granulated sugar
4 large eggs
200g all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
For the topping:
Mr Cake Licorice Caramel Sauce
Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (optional)
👩🍳 Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and flour a 23 cm (9-inch) round cake pan.
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Once cooled, drizzle generously with Mr Cake Licorice Caramel Sauce.
Serve slices with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if desired.
💡 Tip: For an extra touch, sprinkle crushed salted licorice candies over the drizzled sauce before serving.
