In the mid-1950s, in a large red two-storey building in Källberget by Leksand's southern entrance, Rut Carla Landström founded Rutebo Keramik together with David Alfred Landström. Rut had previously run the ceramics workshop "Gammelgård" in Sörmland with a few employees. Rutebo Keramik was a well-functioning family business where his son Klas Håkan and some employees also worked. The production initially consisted of utility and household goods in clay.
